Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Websites and apps can also keep information on your device in similar ways, such as your browser’s localStorage or an app’s local storage. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of these technologies.

How We Use Cookies

Astrobloom uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  • Keeping you signed in to your account
  • Remembering your settings, such as language, theme and hemisphere
  • Remembering your cookie choices
  • Measuring how our site is used (analytics). In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland this only happens after you agree; elsewhere it is on by default and you can switch it off at any time

Essential Cookies

These are needed for the site to work and cannot be switched off. They are not used for analytics or advertising. They include:

  • Sign-in tokens — kept in localStorage to keep you signed in
  • Settings — language, theme, hemisphere and similar display settings
  • Cookie choices — your choice, when you made it, the policy version and a random consent ID, so we can respect your choice and show that we did

Analytics Cookies

If you allow analytics, we use the following to understand how the site is used and to improve it:

  • astrobloom_device_id — a random identifier kept in your browser’s localStorage. Our own statistics service uses it to count visits and see which pages and features are used. These events are stored on our servers and deleted after 90 days
  • _ga — set by Google Analytics 4 to tell visits apart (expires after 2 years)
  • _ga_* — set by Google Analytics 4 to keep track of the current visit (expires after 2 years)

If you have allowed analytics, our servers also report completed purchases to Google Analytics, with a pseudonymous identifier, so we can measure which features people pay for. Google Analytics keeps this data for 14 months.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, none of this is used until you choose “Accept all” or switch Analytics on in Cookie Settings. Elsewhere it is on by default and you can switch it off at any time. If you refuse or withdraw, we stop sending analytics data and delete the identifier from your browser.

Marketing Cookies

Marketing cookies track visitors across websites to show advertising. We do not use any marketing cookies. If we ever do, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.

Managing Your Preferences

You can change your choice at any time with the button below or the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it and does not affect use before you withdrew. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we ask again after 6 months, or sooner if this policy changes. You can also delete cookies and site data in your browser settings.

Our Mobile Apps

The Astrobloom apps work the same way. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, the app asks before it measures usage with our own statistics or Google Analytics for Firebase, and you can change your choice at any time in Profile → Account Settings → Privacy.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is provided by Google LLC, which processes analytics data on our behalf as our service provider. Learn more in Google’s Privacy Policy. We do not sell your personal data and do not use it for advertising.
