Reading Your Ten Gods Strength Panel
On Astrobloom, your profile includes a Ten Gods Strength Panel — a visualization showing the relative power of each God in your chart. Here's how to read it.
Where the Numbers Come From
The panel calculates each God's strength based on:
- Heavenly Stem presence. A God that appears as a visible Stem in your chart has direct, surface-level influence.
- Hidden Stem presence. A God embedded in an Earthly Branch's Hidden Stems has deeper, subtler influence.
- Month Branch (月令, Yuè Lìng) bonus. The Month Branch is the most powerful position in the chart. Any God rooted here receives significant amplification.
- Combination effects. Earthly Branch combinations (harmony, clash, punishment) can strengthen or weaken Gods.
You don't need to calculate any of this — the platform handles the math. Your job is to read the pattern.
Step 1: Identify Your Top Three
Your three strongest Gods are your core operating system — the roles that come most naturally, the energies you default to, the traits others notice first.
Here are a few recognizable profiles based on top-three Gods:
Hurting Officer + Indirect Wealth + Seven Killings: The disruptive entrepreneur. Sees what's broken, bets on the fix, executes under pressure. High risk tolerance, high creative output, high intensity.
Direct Resource + Direct Officer + Eating God: The institutional achiever. Learns thoroughly, follows structure, produces with quiet consistency. Low drama, high reliability, steady advancement.
Companion + Rival + Hurting Officer: The independent creative. Self-directed, competitive, opinionated. Needs autonomy. Produces distinctive work. Doesn't follow trends — sets them.
Indirect Resource + Eating God + Direct Resource: The scholar-creator. Deep thinker, gentle producer, unconventional perspective. Happiest when learning and making, least happy when politicking.
Step 2: Note Your Weak Spots
Gods that rank lowest in your chart aren't deficiencies — they're areas where you operate with less natural instinct. This distinction matters.
A low Direct Wealth score doesn't mean you can't earn a steady income. It means the "careful budgeting, long-term planning, methodical accumulation" style isn't your default. You might reach financial stability through Indirect Wealth (opportunity-spotting) or through the "Output generates Wealth" pathway (talent monetization) instead.
A low Seven Killings score doesn't mean you can't handle pressure. It means high-stakes competitive environments aren't where you feel most alive. You might perform better in supportive, collaborative settings — and that's not a weakness; it's self-knowledge.

The real analytical power of the Ten Gods system emerges when you examine how Gods interact in pairs and groups. Classical BaZi has identified several high-impact combinations:

The Balance Principle
The deepest insight of the Ten Gods system is also the simplest: balance matters more than strength.
A chart where every God is moderately represented produces a well-rounded, adaptable person. A chart where one God completely dominates produces extraordinary intensity in one domain — but potential blind spots in others.
Neither is better. But knowing which pattern you carry is enormously useful:
- If you're balanced: Your growth path is about choosing which strengths to develop deliberately, since none are forcing themselves on you.
- If you're concentrated: Your growth path is about fully leveraging your dominant energy while consciously developing the areas your chart doesn't naturally support.
Think of it like audio mixing. A song where every instrument is at the same volume is balanced but flat. A song where the guitar drowns out everything else is intense but one-dimensional. The art is in knowing what you're working with and mixing accordingly.

Wealth Report
The interaction between your Output Gods (Eating God / Hurting Officer), Wealth Gods (Direct / Indirect), and Day Master strength determines your financial personality. The report maps this to earning style, spending patterns, and wealth-building strategy.
